Description: Fryklof's death in the worldwide flu epidemic of 1919 prevented him from becoming as well-known as his talent suggested he would have become. The two biggest works here are standouts in extant Swedish organ literature: the 15-minute Symphonic Piece of around 1916 in large-scale sonata form with a romantic adagio inserted after the development and before the recapitulation, and the undated Passacaglia, which has led some to call Fryklöf the "Swedish Reger" although its textures are less rich and its lines are clearer than the German composer was wont to be. Ralph Gustafsson (organ of Uppsala Cathedral).
