Description: The son of the more famous baroque composer lived a long, obscure life, mostly in Bonn and Verona, about which little is known. This makes all the more remarkable this set of cello etudes which exist in a single manuscript copy, undated, and which exhibit a combination of late baroque rhetoric with a cantabile line and a profusion of independent and, well, capricious original ideas.
