Description: Originally titled L'Ajo nell'imbarazzo and whose title buffo baritone role is that of a tutor trying to keep his two male charges' sexual desires and shenanigans from their misogynist father, this 1824 comedy was Donizetti's first sustained success. The version offered here was a Naples revision of two years later; the baritone on this recording accordingly has provided dialogues in Neapolitan dialect.
