Description: Another period-instrument blast of French Romantic music from the Palazzeto Bru Zane and Les Siècles brings us a World Premiere Recording too: the 1888 Prix de Rome cantata with a text involving the ill-starred love of a Roman warrior for a Druid princess (Dukas placed second that year). It's a half-hour long piece of inventive orchestration with plenty of operatic gusto and passion. French texts. Chantal Santon (soprano), Julien Dran (tenor), Jean-Manuel Candenot (bass-baritone), Les Siècles; François-Xavier Roth.
