Description: There are no other available CD recordings of the 1943 Divertimento or the 1965 Partita (a schools commission) and collectors who value Berkeley's personal style - born of French parentage, study with Boulanger, friendship with Ravel and Poulenc and an abiding faith in the fertility of the classical tradition - will certainly want to have these works which, for lack of space, can be briefly described as works which Mozart or Haydn might have written had they been born in 1903.
