Description: The "hexachord" consists of six arias and variations - sort of easy listening for the period. Interspersed with the arias are ten fugues in the more severe polyphonic and contrapuntal tradition and the disc ends with a dramatic ciaccona built on an ostinato and using rhythmic and melodic figures from violin music.
