Description: The original works here are all early, dating from 1893-96, except for the bizarre "Anxiety", a four-minute piece from 1932 which is a portrait in sound of exactly that. The Fantasia is notable for being a work by a teenager which is restrained, contemplative and lyrical with a few more energetic moments rather than full of the usual youthful turbulence and passion. The adaptation of Bach's keyboard part for piano and the manner of playing the violin produce a lush, heavily cushioned sound the exact opposite of what you'd hear nowadays.
