Description: What Amirov did in the mid 1970s for Azerbaijani folk music - giving us brief scenes of Azeri life and countryside through flute-and-harp adaptations of it, placing it closer to Western musical tastes - Karastoyanov had already done in the mid 1950s for Bulgarian folk music. A composer as well as flutist, the Frenchman Bellocq created his own suite based partly on actual folk tunes of Slovenia and Croatia and the rest based on them but original (as Bartók did).
