Description: Karg-Elert did 30 of these Wagner transcriptions for the ravenously hungry publisher Edition Peters and they open a new world of sound for collectors of transcriptions because of the wide range of color a harmonium can produce. Usually it takes on vocal and wind parts while the piano does the strings but Karg-Elert varies the scoring as demanded by the musical material. Jan Hennig (1928 Mustel art harmonium), Ernst Breidenbach (piano).
