LUIGI BOCCHERINI (1743-1805): 6 Sonatas for Harpsichord and Violin, Op. 5.

Description: Early works by a young Boccherini who was staying in Paris at the time (1767). No Spanish influences yet but plenty of the melodic gift we associate with this composer and, writing for two accomplished performers, he doesn't bother about difficulties in execution and stirs in a fair share of atypical harmonies. Previous recordings have been single-disc so one assume that these 97 min. are the result of repeats and/or decorations. 2 CDs. Liliana Mosca (violin), Pierre Goy (1773 Beck fortepiano).
