Description: Two late works by masters of the English choral/orchestral tradition working at the heights of their creativity (VW - 1950 and Parry 1912) coupled with the 30-year-old Holst's largest scale work at that point in his career when he was abandoning his interest in Wagner but yet to discover English folk song (you can hear Mars coming in the not too distant future at one point). Texts included. Sheila Armstrong (soprano), London Symphony Orchestra; David Atherton. Original 1982 LP release.
