Description: A composer who spent most of his career in Rome, Melani is a relatively new discovery and everything here was recorded from unpublished manuscript sources. The first two items listed above are Marian and notable for their intense emotional communication but all these motets have an expressive quality, often allied to a mature contrapuntal mastery which identify the composer as yet another Italian baroque discovery to be reckoned with.
