Description: Surrounding Respighi's grave and sublime treatment of Vitali are examples of the renewal movement in Italian sacred music of the early 20th century (and some of their earlier models): slow tempo works with meltingly beautiful melodies in a generally pious attitude.  Pretty, but maybe not to be listened to complete in one sitting! Roberto Noferini (violin), Andrea Toschi (organ of Basilica de S. Steffano, Bologna).
