Description: "The Little Elf", a 34-minute suite for piano four-hands after an Andersen fairy tale from 1912 which Schmitt later orchestrated was arranged for two pianos by De'Ath. The other works, except for the virtuosic waltz Rhapsodies of 1903, are orchestral works in two-piano versions by the composer. This four-hands version of Salomé dates from 1911 and has an oboe in its third movement (the Naxos version of 1913 for solo piano was released last March - 03M054). 2 CDs for the price of 1.
