Description: This project, initiated by the Palazzetto Bru Zane, is constructed like a ‘universal’ fairytale inspired by Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Bluebeard, Hop-o’-My-Thumb and others, as set to music by French composers of the Romantic era. Conceived by Alexandre Dratwicki (who also co-wrote the “libretto”) and transcribed by him for piano quartet and two singers, it provides a good 21 minutes of arias by composers you’re not likely to hear much from again (even with the Bru Zane people involved) and a very pleasant full hour of fairy-tale romanticism, French-English libretto. Jodie Devos (soprano), Caroline Meng (mezzo), Quatuor Giardini.
