Description: Even fewer cello/organ works are found than violin/organ works and, as you might expect, most of the stuff here is on the meditative, contemplative, cantabile side. Dupré stands out for providing three fast movements and independent solo parts while organist/composer Gárdanyi solves a balance problem by having an organ thunderstorm reach a crescendo and then die away, making way for the cello's song but most of the rest use the organ to provide a bed of lush, quiet accompaniment for the string player. Tibor Bogányi (cello), Àgnes Zászkaliczky (organ of Michael's Church, Turku).
