Description: Although these sonatas were printed in 1707, it appears that as early as 1695 the composer had sent a copy of at least two sonatas to her friend Sebastien de Brossard, theoretician and composer fascinated by the Italian repertoire, making this one of the first French examples of sonatas for violin and basso continuo and their novel nature, Italian references and original, sometimes daring harrmonies were immediately remarked upon.
