Description: A composer of Paganini-like qualities with respect to his soloistic skills, Ciardi wrote only one concerto (c.1859) whose orchestration is missing but which has been restored by the flutist here. The expected virtuosity and lyrical expressiveness also appear in all the other works recorded here, many of which demonstrate the composer's love of folk music. Roberto Fabricciani (flute), Massimiliano Damerini (piano), Orchestra Sinfonica del Friuli Venezia Giulia; Stefan Fraas.
