Description: Yes, CRD is still alive, making new recordings! Croft's early (1699) sonatas are an attractive blend of pre-Corelli Italian influences and post-Purcell English ones. His D Minor keyboard suite is French in style but the other two are versions of theatre music (certainly in the F major one and likely in the other). The most unusual and longest work here (21 minutes) is the combination da camera and da chiesa anonymous sonata, probably from the 1720s - seven movements with five dances following a prelude and fugue. Duo Dorado.
