Description: Liste's half-hour long sonata was apparently inspired by Beethoven's Op. 31 group of 1801-02. This being a Swiss label, the other major-sized work, is by a 20th century Swiss composer - Schauble's seven-movement, 26-minute ballet score (presumably originally for orchestra; the notes aren't very good on this release) is based on a selection of Goya's 80 aquatints. Spanish flavor but not dripping with it; rather a mature composer's own style tinted by it, expressive and colorful. See Siang Wong, Hans Adolfsen (pianos).
