Description: Having last year essayed the solo virtuosity of Ferdinand David’s Virtuoso Studies (07Q048) violinist Kuppel now travels the length of Vieuxtemps’ solo violin repertoire, from his first set (the Op. 16 youthful fireworks of c.1845) through the academic 36 Etudes (1880) intended to supercede earlier studies by Kreutzer and Rode, to the posthumously published, polyphonic Morceaux which stand out for their Bachian allusions.
