Description: Ammerbach was one of the so-called "colorists", who put together large collecions of keyboard transcriptions of vocal polyphony and adding virtuoso passagework. Important not only for its glimpse of period keyboard style but also for sometimes preserving the only known versions of the vocal work serving as the "coloring" base, this recital includes examples from all the genres Ammerbach covered in his three publications (1571, 1575 and 1581): German chorales and sacred songs, German secular songs, French chansons, Italian madrigals and dances (the first German examples of the main Renaissance dances).
