Description: Shedding light on an unknown area of his work, this new release shows son to have been as conservative as his father when it came to sacred composition. These pieces range from the audaciously polyphonic (Stabat Mater) to the severe counterpoint of the Miserere but all demonstrate a firm grip on the polyphonic art inherited from the Renaissance.
