Description: Milhaud's early (1914) sonata, at 16 minutes the longest work here, is still soaked in the sun and good feeling of his native Provence, a joyful piece radiating a relaxed contentedness. Martinu's (1930) comes from his jazz-inflected Parisian period while the Yun works (1983 and 1988) inhabit a completely different world of non-tonal, advanced language and playing techniques (making it an odd coupling except for the fact that the performers are Korean). Angela Chun, Jennifer Chun (violins), Nelson Padgett (piano).
