ANTON BRUCKNER (1824-1896): String Quintet in F, String Quartet in C Minor, Intermezzo in D Minor, Rondo in C Minor.
Catalogue Number: 01K047
Description: The first budget-priced release of the early (1862) quartet, which comes from the same study book as the so-called Symphonies Nos. "0' and "00", produced while Bruckner was still a student. A solid piece of craftsmanship, it follows carefully all of the procedures taught to composers at the time (follow Schubert, Beethoven and Mozart!) with very little of the mature Bruckner adumbrated in it. The even rarer Rondo appears to have been meant as an alternate final movement. Fine Arts Quartet, Gil Sharon (viola, Quintet).
