Description: Nothing terribly unusual here yet none of these pieces has been exactly over-recorded, especially Pfitzner's 42+-minute concerto which rambles through various aspects of late German Romanticism and yet surprises in a couple of spots with shots of music Schoenberg or Berg would not have snickered at, but we thought some of you might be interested in hearing them performed by a stellar orchestra and conductor (imagine your local orchestra doing a program like this). 2 CDs.
