Description: The title of this recital by a young British/Romanian pianist is “Following the River”, i.e. the Danube, but 40 of its 62 minutes are taken up by the most desirable, because rarely heard, music - the Romanian. Representatives of two generations of Romanian composers demonstrate that folk music and sacred music are of equal importance to their culture and that quiet contemplation is as important, if not more so, than the the whirling abandon of the dance. Florian Mitrea (piano).
