Description: From different ends of Krenek's career come the 1922 Symphonische Musik, in the atonal style of his first symphony (both of which were completed while studying under Schreker) with a first movement distinguished by a powerful rhythmic drive and a fugue-like beginning to the second which leads to a rondo-like paraphrase of the first movement material, and the 1962 wind quintet with percussion, in which each member of the quintet gets a solo movement with an intermezzo following. This is in the serial style Krenek began to experiment with in the late 50s. Petersen Quartet, Rosetti Wind Quintet, Wieland Welzel (percussion), Andreas Wylezol (double bass).
