Description: Unknown today, Baltzar astonished his English audiences with polyphonic violin playing which seems to predate any other European composers. He also was the first violinist to use scordatura tuning outside of Italy. These are his complete solo violin works, performed, oddly, on a modern instrument, from manuscripts at the Bodleian Library in Oxford. Patrick Wood (violin).
