Description: Crusell spent much of his career listening to and transcribing orchestral works for military wind bands (with full use of drums and cymbals!). This, release, a little earlier in period than we're used to from Sterling, contains his transcriptions of his own Concertante, first performed in this version in 1829 while the version of Krommer's double concerto comes from 1827. Wrapping up the disc is the funeral march played at Crusell's funeral which ends by quoting his song Sigh at the End. Dan Larsson (clarinet), Erik Rapp (horn), Andreas From (bassoon), Staffan Mårtensson & Dan Larsson (clarinets, Krommer/Crusell), Östgöta Wind Symphony; Olof Boman.
