Description: Successor to Mendelssohn at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, editor of Mendelssohn's complete works and supervisor of the complete editions of Bach and Handel, Rietz is almost unknown as a composer (three symphonies!). This concerto is unpublished and has its Mendelssohnian influences but is an utterly captivating example of high Romanticism and adds another beautiful work to the clarinet's repertory. Sharon Kam (clarinet), Ori Kam (viola), Sinfonia Varsovia; Gregor Bühl.
