Description: Works for the uncommon (in the Romantic period anyway) combination of two violins and piano. Although written in 1916, three years later than Huber's, Mendelssohn's is much more conservative and Romantic in style. Huber's work is almost anti-violinistic in its use of high registers and the second violinist for main motives while the pianist gets a lot of fast work and chordal passages. Moszkowski's late work predictably gives the majority of the virtuosity to the pianist. Trio Ardito.
