Description: After scores for such films as It Came From Outer Space, Creature from the Black Lagoon, This Island Earth and Tarantula, Stein was hired for this film - the only Roger Corman movie ever to lose money. William Shatner starred as a mysterious figure in a small Southern town who stirs up a racist mob. A very fine orchestral score was supplemented by three jazz cues with Benny Carter and Buddy Collette among the combo. A seven-minute industrial film-score from 1951 and nine minutes of unrelased cues from various film projects are joined by Suite for Mario (new recording), a 1948 piece written for Stein's composition teacher, Castelnuovo-Tedesco.
