Description: These very obscure works, except for the 12-year-old Busoni's delightful six-movement suite of 1878, are examples of the reflowering of Italian instrumental music at the end of the 19th century: Longo (the Longo, who catalogued Domenico Scarlatti's sonatas!) wrote his three-movement work in 1910, Scontrino's six-piece set, with nods to Brahms and Debussy comes from 1909 and Frugatta's half-dozen are from 1901. All richly melodic, some with quite memorable slow movements. Sergio Bosi (clarinet), Riccardo Bartoli (piano).
