Description: For you British recorder repertoire collectors out there, I know that the Bowen, Rubbra and Berkeley are practically standard repertoire but the remainder are much rarer and three have no other recordings currently available: Fulton's 1954 suite of five movements which capture the rusticity of Scottish folk dances, Dodgson's 1975 Shine and Shade, the longest single movement here at over nine minutes and mixing contrapuntal classicism, blues and modern jazz, and Swann's (of the famous duo Flanders and Swann) eccentric and charming 1982 tribute to Carl Dolmetsch and his harpsichordist's 50 years of musical partnership. Piers Adams (recorders), Julian Rhodes (piano).
