JOHANN BAPTIST CRAMER (1771-1858): Piano Concertos No. 4 in C, Op. 38 and No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 48.
Catalogue Number: 02V049
Description: Another stalwart of the “London Piano School”, Cramer wrote nine piano concertos between, 1795 and 1825. The Fifth (1807) adds trumpets and timpani to the Classical orchestra and is much more turbulent than the sunnier Fourth, especially in its first movement and has an infectious “Rondo à l’Hongroise” for a finale. London Mozart Players; Howard Shelley (piano).
