Description: Remember the good old days when regional German labels would do things like concentrate solely on native sons or music written by composers resident at their home courts? Well, here's the very thing: almost 200 years of lieder composed by Dresden-born or -based composers, all of it but the Schumann, rather or very rare. Needless to say, it's all in the tradition of the German Romantic Lied (except for the almost eight-minute Die Lerhstunde by Naumann which is a concert aria without orchestra for one of Mozart's favorite singers, Josepha Duschek), even the last four items by two composers who were suppressed by the Nazis in one manner or another. German texts. Romy Petrick (soprano), Liana Bertók (piano).
