GRAZYNA BACEWICZ (1909-1969): Cello Concertos Nos. 1 & 2, Overture.

Description: While the breathless, almost Kabalevskian Overture of 1943 has been recorded before, there are no other options for the concertos. The first (1951) is from the period when Bacewicz was still working, generally, in the post-Szymanowski romantic tradition while the second of 1963 comes from her period of reconciliation of the avant-garde of that day with her older, neo-classical style, employing a vivid coloristic imagination.
