IGNAZ PLEYEL (1757-1831): Partitas in E Flat, B Flat and E Flat, Eccossois, Sextet in C Minor.

Description: Pleyel wrote plenty of wind octets in the period before 1783 but these ain't them (so to speak). Only one of these works is apparently original, the remainder being transcriptions of a string quintet, a string quartet and movements from two other string quartets while the Eccossois is a transcription of one of the 32 song arrangements which Pleyel did (like Haydn and Beethoven also) for Scottish song collector George Thomson.
