Description: In one respect, this program records the progression from baroque to galant in the various composers who spent time employed by Vivaldi's old ospetale, the Pietà in Venice. But it's also a tribute to the single-named Chiara (1718-1791), a foundling deposited at the Pietài and student of Vivaldi's best violin student; four of the works here were specifically composed for her including, in the Martinelli viola d'amore concerto, her own written-out cadenza. Also includes a DVD (NTSC all regions) with the 32-minute film Il Diario di Chiara. Europa Galante;  Fabio Biondi (violin, viola d'amore).
