Description: The Austrian Schrammel brothers pioneered the quartet of two violins, guitar and clarinet for wine-house performances of popular songs in the mid-19th century. Here popular waltzes join the mix and everything is performed on historical instruments from the Vienna Museum of Historic Art: two violins owned by the Schrammel brothers and made around 1883, a historical contrabass guitar from the early 20th century a button accordion from 1904 and a modern copy of a high G clarinet.
