Description: Since Feinberg’s and Weinberg’s sonatas are getting multiple recording these days, we offer this primarily for the Sviridov, a three-movement, 16-minute work from 1944 in which the macabre and somber manifestations of wartime are reflected in the composer’s modern musical language, expressive dissonant harmony and dramatic emotional tension.
