CARL FRÜHLING (1868-1937): Piano Quintet in F Sharp Minor, Op. 30, Piano Quartet in D, Op. 35.

Description: The op. 30 quintet was published in 1892 but disappeared in 1914 without trace until the 1990s, begins in a tempestuous manner and continues full of energy and turmoil, even in the slow movement. Its unpublished sibling survived in a collection owned by the Flonzaley Quartet and has a strong sense of counterpoint and is partial to more sweeping gestures.
