Description: Fond of reissuing out-of-print titles without noting that they are not new recordings and keeping them at full-price, MD&G are nevertheless to be thanked for reissuing this 18-year-old release since it remains the only available version of the early, 1915, Grande concerto which, at 19 minutes in a single-movement, is not particularly grand in size. The early concerto is more French in color than the later one, which has the edge in long-breathed melodies often tinged with the ever-present hints of Brazilian folk music.
