Description: Weigl's work is a 1931 transcription of a 1906 string sextet originally written for the famed Rosé Quartet and friends. The coupling, although odious for collectors of unusual repertoire, is quite apt since the style of the young Weigl at this time is such that he and Schoenberg seem to have been drawing from the same spring of style and affect at the very same time. If Verklärte Nacht is high on your list of favorites, Weigl's Rhapsody is definitely for you! Tonkuenstler Chamber Orchestra; Bijan Khadem-Missagh.
