Description: Dating from 1785, this work exists in manuscript in Assisi and is attributed to Paisiello (quite likely though). In the tradition of Italian passion settings, the texts are exclusively from scripture with no operatic "arias" and the composer uses only violins and continuo. Spare yet expressive and in the true Neapolitan sacred tradition. Latin-English texts.
