Description: Corigliano's early (1963) sonata is a very approachable mixture of neo-classicism in fast movements and a lovely lyricism in its slow ones while Dello Joio (1948) presents a simple and tranquil theme on the piano which serves as the basis for the following sequences which run the attractive and easily-approachable gamut from seriously lyrical to lively and virtuosic.
