Description: Like Wieniawski above, Noskowski also wrote predominantly salon-style piano music but unlike him, he tended to write suites of pieces meant to be performed in sequence. Thus, as in the op. 35, a stormy mini-tone poem Conte d'hiver is followed by a melancholy, hyper-romantic une vieille romance and an equally gloomy Valse dolente closes what has the feel of a narrative. All five of these compositions work in that manner and the Polish dances usually present at least once per work are part of the story, not merely seasoning. Valentina Seferinova (piano).
