Description: You'll know Feld's sonata in its original (1957) version for flute and piano since it's been recorded multiple times recently; this orchestration comes from 1965. The Musique concertante, written in 2005, is a world premiere recording and still in Feld's tonal, approachable style (and uses a Machaut ballad in its slow movement and a Luxembourgois popular song in its finale). Lukás work (no date given) is a tough-edged, neo-classical piece effectively setting off the glittering harp against dense orchestral textures while Kalabis' Tristium is a 12-minute "Concert Fantasy" in memoriam piece from 1986 modeled on Hindemith's Trauermusik. Carlo Jans (flute), Jitka Hosprová (viola), Katerina Englichová (harp), Prague Chamber Orchestra; Antonín Hradil.
