Description: ordes was one of the three founders, with Guilmant and D'Indy, of the Schola Cantorum but he also has a small batch of compositions to his credit, including this 22-minute suite from 1887 which is inspired by Basque music and has a Zortziko for its second movement. Most of the couplings are rare and the 1989 Françaix quintet, as bright, chipper and witty as you'd expect, is not otherwise available in the U.S. Carlo Jans (flute), Katerina Englichová (harp), Martinu Quartet.
